The module «Families and Digital Media» of the Cumila curriculum is aimed at parents, teachers and people who accompany children and adolescents. The module consists of two main parts.

- Working in teams
- Learning
- Creative and critical thinking
- Intercultural skills

Accompanying Children Using Digital Media
Part 2 focuses on practical support for children and young people in their use of digital media. The concept pursued throughout is to lead children from accompanied use to responsible, independent use. The knowledge required for this is imparted to the participants for the following topics:
- Age-appropriate media use
- Risks for children and young people online
- Data protection & privacy
- Protection against sexual assault on the net
- Accompanying chats
- Accompanying social media
- Accompanying gaming
The learning materials in Module 6 were created for adult education, but many exercises and materials can also be used for work with children and young people. The lessons leave plenty of room to try out digital media, so that even participants with little previous knowledge can easily access the topics.
